Dear readers (i believe that’s only Pat, and maybe Ron…)
This is my petition to be allowed to buy an HDTV. Your digital signatures will help the cause! So please leave a comment and give Sandra a good reason why I should get a new HDTV. If I am successful in convincing her, I’ll have a big party and you can all gawk at how awesome my TV is. Don’t let Pat leave me technologically behind! Or you can write about how I shouldn’t get one….

I think you should let Marc buy a new TV, so he can finally step into the next generation. It will save him from much taunting from Pat and myself, who are already members of the future of television.
Actually while he’s at it, may as well let him buy a new iPod too, since his black-and-white one is the equivalent of owning a black-and-white TV. Then he’ll finally be caught up to me!
I do however, think you should give him a caveat that it has to be an LCD TV, which is the superior image. After all Sandra, don’t you want the best image??
I too second the motion that Marc should be allowed to purchase an HDTV. Going to social gatherings at the condo just isn’t the same when you’re forced to play video games on a TV that was developed during the same era that New Kids On the Block were pumping out Pepsi commercials.
While we’re at it, why don’t we also throw in a pair of nose hair clippers. We’ll all be better off with that added to the package. Come to think of it, scrap the HDTV … let’s just go with the nose hair clippers.
I just want my name on the petition.
I don’t care if Directo gets a TV or not. It won’t be as sweet as the one I got two weeks ago. Sucker.
After all was said and done, more was said than done…
And in strange S&M kinda way I hope Marc gets his TV.
Always rolling, always chilling, relaxation the key to enlightenment.
And what better way to pay homage? A dedication to hedonistic technology?
HDTV -> QED.
I think he should get the TV so we can party again.
I vote in favour of the HD…so long as we can wiiiiiiii it up
I am going to vote for Marc getting an HDTV. Please Sandra, do us all a favour and save our precious ears of his whining. Plus, how amazing would it be to watch Jack Bauer save the world in HD!
Andrew, I think you should put that Tucker Max book down. He’s having too much influence in your life. I can smell him through your post.
A wedding. A condo and now a HDTV? What will it be next? I’m with Sandra on this one. Can’t also get want you want!
Never been to these alleged crazy parties…so give him the damn tv…i’ll bring the Doritos Zesty Cheese, directo said he’s covering the beer…and yes, he’s planning the party before the tv
Hate to be a pooper, but with great power comes great FINANCIAL responsibility. I would be surprised to discover that you had enough $$$ left over before paying for the wedding and setting aside some decent $$$ for mortgage payments, to buy an HDTV. The last thing you want to do is start off married life in huge debt. Wait until after the wedding and after the condo’s finished to see what shape you guys are in, then you can have my blessings. We love our 20″ babies, it’s like watching an iPod Video when we’re sitting in the kitchen!
i vote yay. An even better reason to get one is cause i can get new discounted Toshiba tv’s twice a year..let me know WHEN (uhh..um..i mean ‘IF’) you’re interested in buying.

As an owner of a 50phd8uk, i think a good hdtv is a requirement. and by good i mean ‘non-lcd’. unless you actually want to watch tv (crap) instead of movies (amazing). plus those panels are super cheap now.
basically, sandra, you are doing the economy a disservice by not letting directo spend your hard-earned money on something that only he wants. take one for the team.
in all seriousness, big tv’s are so much better than little tv’s it’s not even funny. actually, tv’s smaller than 36″ shouldn’t even be called tv’s anymore.
sandra how can anything in your life be more important than getting a big tv? ok maybe children but put the kid in a cage and he won’t wreck the tv – it’s that easy!
i vote YES for a REAL TV for DIRECTO!!!!!!!
by the way, I like mangoes
1080P is the only way to go. While you’re at it also pick up the new Blu-Ray DVD player. Don’t forget the full 7.1. Home Theatre system. While you’re at it you might as well you pick up a 40” for the bedroom.
Another suggestion, put the big screen as a registry gift for the wedding, and who knows maybe all your friends could get together and buy you one. (just a thought)
Avi Garrett – I have a Samsung system 1080i (42”) – Amazing
Young Nak Chu – Sharp Aquos 1080p (46”)- Amazing
PS: We work with Sandra! but are on your side!
Depriving Marcus Directus of the HDTV is like depriving me of curry when I come home for the weekend. What would I do without my samosas? Please think about this before you make your decision.

Sandra,
You need to let Marc get an HDTV for his personal safety, and here is why. Marc is an action junkie, he like 24, Chuck norris, Nunchucks and any thing with explosions. HDTV will deliver all of these things in the safety of his home.
With out these he may venture out of the house more often, get himself mugged or even killed.
HDTV has been reducing crime and saving lives since it was released. Stats Canada shows it has saved more lives in the past 5 years than seatbelts, gas-masks, kevlar and Superman combined.
So if you really care for Marc you’ll show him how much you love him, but putting his safety first. By protecting him from the world by getting him an HDTV…
Please…
I think that the money would be better spent on something sparkly on Sandra’s left hand. This way your money will last a lifetime and not the life the this ever changing technology.
I work with Sandra and smartly support her!
Even though the Wii does not need a HDTV, if you get one you will have a great excuse for a PS3.
i’m sorry to say sandra . . but i am in favour for the HDTV
