Nerd Wars – Darth Directus

Well, it’s 2 weeks since I watched Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Sandra and I saw it when she visited me in Atlanta. Funny side-note, that was the first time she came down to see me and what do we do the first night?… go see Star Wars baby… I digress. Let’s get back to my short recap. Saw Ep.3 – and it was the shizzle. Good shit, I liked the action, Anakin going nuts, and all the cool tie-ins into Ep. 3.

But it doesn’t stop there. Ep. 3 began my insatiable need to see everything Star Wars. So I get back on the weekend (05-27) and after work, I go a little nuts and go buy Ep. 1, (had Ep. 2) and the classic trilogy from Futureshit. $80 bucks later and a whole lot nerdier, I get home, crank up the receiver and sit down to an orgy of Star Wars.

Friday Night : Sandra was at Canada’s Wonderland so I was home alone. Every story has a beginning, and it all started with Ep.1 with that stupid little kid playing Anakin. Not a big fan of Ep. 1 but for continuity sakes, I watched it. Plus the light-sabre scenes were awesome. Darth Maul – what a waste. After Ep. 1, it only got better with Ep. 2. I liked Ep. 2 much better. Yoda was the bizzle.

Saturday : I remind Sandra that I have just purchased the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD and that I’m going to watch ‘A New Hope’. She seems into it and we sit down and watch that bad ass. Little did I know she’d be lovin’ it. She’s a Jedi fan, especially Obi-Wan and Yoda. So when Ep. 1 finishes, BAM, she’s all about plopping in Ep. 2. Sure enough, she can’t get enough – especially when Yoda makes his appearance. I think all chicks are Yoda lovers. So it’s all good – the best one of the series IMHO. So we get through with that and we have to go to dinner. How pissed is she that we can’t watch Return! Haha..it was awesome. We attempted to watch it when we got back in, but to no avail, we both passed out.

Sunday : The finale. Return, Ep. 6. I’m POSITIVE Lucas put the Ewoks in there to appease the female contingent. Yoda dies – and Hayden is the new/old Anakin.

Anyways, I think I’m over the Star Wars kick for now. Those were some cool movies. Next up, the Matrix…
